About VESI
Small Insight, Big Impact (SiBI), under SiBI Institute, is pleased to officially announce the launch of the Village Environment Systems Initiative (VESI) for Africa.
VESI is a virtual, pro bono technical assistance initiative designed to support registered village associations working to strengthen environmental systems, including air, water, and land systems.
Across many villages, environmental challenges continue to grow in complexity and interconnectedness. Water quality, sanitation, drainage, waste management, land degradation, flooding, weak local coordination, and limited technical support often affect community resilience and long-term sustainability.
Too often, these challenges are addressed in fragmented ways. VESI was established to strengthen systems thinking, environmental stewardship, practical problem-solving, and local resilience through technical guidance, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
What VESI Provides
Through VESI, SiBI will provide practical technical guidance to help villages:
- Strengthen environmental systems (air, water, land)
- Improve local planning, coordination, and monitoring
- Apply systems-based approaches to village challenges
- Build long-term environmental stewardship capacity
- Strengthen village resilience through practical and scalable solutions
Please note: This is not a funding program. It is a systems-strengthening and capability-building partnership. All support is delivered virtually, enabling villages to access technical guidance and global expertise regardless of location.
How to Apply
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Interested registered village associations are encouraged to submit:
- Name of village association or organization
- Country and location
- Brief description of environmental or village challenge
- Existing activities or initiatives underway
- Primary contact person and contact information
- Short explanation of why the group would like to participate in VESI
